Alelys – Chromosomal Analysis Center for Laboratories

Karyotype and FISH with complete reports, delivered within 48 hours, following international nomenclature (ISCN).

What Alelys Does

Alelys is a central support laboratory specialized in the analysis of karyotypes and FISH on samples:

  • Bone marrow
  • Peripheral blood
  • Fetal / prenatal material
  • Solid tumors (Tumor FISH)

Your laboratory sends the slides or digitized images, and we return the complete report, ready to deliver to the requesting physician or attach to your electronic medical record.

Which laboratories is Alelys suitable for?

Alelys was created for laboratories that:

  • Do not have a structured cytogenetics team but want to offer karyotype and FISH with reference center quality.
  • Already perform the technical phase (slide preparation) and want to outsource only the analysis and reporting.
  • Need support during peak demands or team vacation periods.
  • Seek predictable deadlines without investing in infrastructure, software, or additional training.

Why outsource your cytogenetics with Alelys?

No Infrastructure Investment

You avoid costs with implementing a cytogenetics sector, purchasing equipment, software, licenses, upgrades, and maintenance.

Experienced Team

All reports are supervised by Dr. Monika Conchon, a hematologist and cytogeneticist with extensive experience in onco-hematological cytogenetics.

Cutting-Edge Software with AI Support

We work with the latest version of Applied Spectral Imaging (HiBand 8.4.1), supported by artificial intelligence to speed up and refine the analysis.

Reports within 48 Hours

Standard turnaround time of up to 48 hours for most cases, with the possibility of specific agreements for larger volumes.

International Nomenclature (ISCN)

Reports issued according to the international ISCN nomenclature, facilitating understanding and comparability in publications and reference centers.

Scalability without Hiring Staff

You increase the volume of tests without needing to hire, train, and supervise new professionals.

How does the process with Alelys work?

  1. Initial Contact and Alignment

We jointly define which tests will be outsourced, estimated volumes, submission method (slide or image), and report template.

  2. Submission of Slides or Images

Slides: physical shipment via courier/carrier organized by the laboratory itself. Digitized images: submission via a secure cloud platform (e.g., OneDrive, etc.), as agreed.

  3. Analysis and Interpretation

We analyze the metaphases, mount the karyotype/FISH result, interpret the findings, and describe them according to the ISCN.

  4. Report Issuance

You receive the complete report in PDF, with description, result, interpretation, and, when relevant, clinical correlation/literature.

  5. Case Support and Discussion

For complex cases, we offer support for discussion with the responsible physician, via email or online meeting, if necessary.

Tests and Areas of Expertise

We primarily serve the following areas:

Hematology

  • Bone marrow Karyotype
  • Peripheral blood Karyotype (myeloproliferative disorders, leukemias, etc.)
  • FISH for CML, CLL, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndromes, among other panels.

Constitutional Cytogenetics

  • Peripheral blood Karyotype (numerical and structural alterations)

Prenatal / Fetal Material Cytogenetics

  • Products of conception
  • Chorionic villus biopsy / amniotic fluid (as per combined scope)

Tumor FISH

  • Specific panels for solid and hematological tumors
